this really is a hard one, there are certain types of character that i prefer long hair on and others i prefer short hair on though if i was forced to pick i'd probably go with short hair

For me I don't really mind long or short. Everyone of them has their own style.
It all depends on the character. But if I were to choose based on their hair, I would go for long hair.
